Embark on a transformative journey into the original practice of Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM), a therapeutic fusion of deep oil massage, yoga-based stretches, and holistic bodywork. This 90-minute massage technique, developed by the renowned master Kusum Modak in Pune, India, combines the wisdom of Ayurvedic traditions with the alignment principles of B.K.S. Iyengar yoga. Through this course, you will learn not only how to give a deeply rejuvenating massage but also how to care for yourself, cultivate body awareness, and discover the art of healing from within.
With the Introductory and Intensive courses (Levels 1 – 2 / 60 hours) you will learn techniques to consciously relax deep-seated tension, release emotional blocks, and dissolve stress. These skills not only benefit the person receiving the massage but also empower you to reconnect with your own emotional and physical well-being, creating a healing space where both souls can shine.
The Advanced and Specialist courses (Levels 3 – 4 / 50 hours) are focused on the detailed anatomy of musculoskeletal system, deep tissue bodywork with a no pain approach, myofascail release and postural alignment. You will learn how to heal consciously and effectively most common physical problems for a safe and successful healing practice.
The learning process follows the complete Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) technique as learned from Naseem in 2001 directly with the founder and master Kusum Modak in Pune, India. AYM is the original fusion of Indian Traditional Ayurvedic Massage and the Yoga of B.K.S. Iyengar: a slow and deep oil massage in combination with lots of stretching and ‘passive asanas’ (body positions) for the opening and re-alignment of the body structure, it’s how to give and receive a deep Yoga session (at all levels).
Alongside the AYM method Naseem combines his long professional experience in Contemporary Dance and Contact Improvisation to teach feeling the possibilities and limits of body movement. Safe and comfortable positions and a sense of fluidity, rhythm and care of movements will transform our massage also in an artistic gesture to give and to receive a Dance (of the hands and fingers on a skin carpet).
A Meditative state of total Presence and dedication is also essential in Naseem’s approach to bodywork and therapeutic gesture. It’s this sense of the sacredness of the moment and the foundamental connection with the Heart the carrier pillar on which the whole learning process and further the therapeutic practice can lean on and develop to give (and give oneself) care and Healing.
